ED659 invites applications for 14 doctoral contracts
to carry out a thesis in one of the host teams affiliated with ED659 Recherches BioMédicales.

- HDRs can submit their thesis topics on ADUM: January 13, 2026
- Closing date for HDRs to submit thesis topics: March 8, 2026
- HDRs open applications: March 15, 2026
- Deadline for receipt of applications by the Doctoral School: April 24, 2026
- Competition date: June 1, 2 and 3, 2026
Rules for the 2026 competition
Adopted by the ED659 Council on January 9, 2026
1 HDR supervisor = 1 subject = 1 candidate
For supervisors submitting a subject: (on ADUM, same procedure as last year)
* Be an HDR at ED659
* Have a supervision rate less than or equal to 300% (except exceptionally if defense is scheduled for 2026)
* Not have obtained a doctoral contract last year in the ED659 competition or in any other Aix-Marseille University doctoral competition (Institutes, PhD Programs, SCHADOC)
* Not to submit the same subject to any other Aix-Marseille Université doctoral competitions (Institutes, PhD Programs, SCHADOC) this year
Inter-ED question: if the subject submitted to the inter-ED is not selected by the ED, it may be submitted to the ED's internal competition.
For candidates:
* Under no circumstances may a candidate take the competition if he/she has already taken it the previous year
* Under no circumstances may a candidate take the competition on several different subjects in the same year
* Candidates may not apply for other Aix-Marseille Université doctoral competitions (Institutes, PhD Programs, SCHADOC) in the same year
Competition via zoom possible
No minimum 1st semester Master grade or ranking.
