All AMU doctoral students are subject to the Doctoral Charter, which requires a minimum of 100 hours of training over the entire duration of the thesis

  • 50 hours of scientific training: to provide you with the tools you need to carry out your research activities

  • 50 hours of professional training: to prepare you for your future career, whether academic or non-academic

The doctoral student can choose from the ADUM catalog of training courses

  • cross-disciplinary (mainly offered by the DFD )

  • And/or disciplinary (mainly offered by theED)

Co-tutored PhD students must validate the same number of hours of training, whether provided by amU or by their co-tutored university.

Doctoral students on contract (Contrat Doctoral) with teaching responsibilities must validate CIPE training hours. To have these hours validated, please request a certificate from the CIPE administrative secretary and include it in your ADUM account. CIPE contact: Sonia AMOROS - sonia.amoros@univ-amu.fr - Registration for CIPE training modules for contract PhD students with teaching responsibilities is now open in the SYGEFOR application.

Salaried doctoral students, working in AP-HM or in private practice, must validate 50 hours of scientific training. Cross-disciplinary training is also, of course, validated.

Attention

3 training courses must be taken during the 1st year via ADUM :

  • Research ethics

  • Scientific integrity in the research profession

  • Open science awareness

To take these compulsory courses, you must have your AMU student address @etu.univ-amu.fr as your main ADUM address.

All the information you need to activate it and consult it on your AMU student space (ent) is on your school certificate.

Recommended activities

  • PhD programs (NeuroSchool, CENTURI, MarMaRa, etc.)
  • Participation in a doctoral students' association (e.g. Hippo'these)
  • Participation in a scientific symposium

💡The doctoral student may be required to attend and/or participate in training courses, congresses, summer schools... not offered on ADUM. These are"non-catalog" activities.
Example: Contract doctoral students (=with doctoral contract) have access to the catalog of training courses for AMU staff, via the GEFORP platform
→ To make sure that an activity can be valued in training hours, and to know how many hours, it is advisable to contact the ED beforehand.

Training validation procedures

  • Training courses in the ADUM catalog

Doctoral students can register for one of the disciplinary training courses organized by the ED, or for a cross-disciplinary course in the ADUM catalog.
All registrations must be made via your ADUM space.
Please note: You will receive an anonymous quality questionnaire at the end of the course, which you must complete in order to have your training hours validated.

  • Non-catalog" training courses - the ED validates on ADUM after examining the supporting documents, 5 hours per day with a maximum of 20 hours

To validate external participation, you must fill in the "Declaration of non-catalog training courses" field in your ADUM personal space with :

  • The condensed program of the event
  • The abstract of your poster and/or oral presentation - as first author
  • Certificate of attendance(download sample certificate)
  • DESU-DIU and other diploma courses: program and schedule. The ED Director is responsible for allocating the number of hours.
  • As the database only accepts one pdf download, you must save all documents in a single pdf file for each participation.
If no attachment is provided, the validation request will be refused.
  • ⚠️N Don't wait until the last moment to have these activities validated: enter them in your personal ADUM space as you go along!

The 3 compulsory training courses during the 1st year

The 3 courses are distance learning "MOOCs" to be completed at your own pace.

They are bilingual English/French.

You'll find them in the ADUM training catalog, offered by the DFD - Doctoral Training Department.
